Step 1: Get In Touch

Send me an email explaining your project (or use my handy online form!)

Let me know:

• What you need a voiceover for (eg. TV, radio, online commercial, music streamers, training video, in-house company video, award ceremony, other)

• The length of the script

• Will my voiceover be to picture (video)? Would you like me to time my delivery to a pre-existing project, set the pace for images to follow, or would you like me to build and edit the entire piece?

• Would you like me to add music and/or SFX. Will you be providing these or would you like me to?

• Your deadline/s or preferred dates.

The more information you can give me, the more accurate my quote will be.

Step 2: Quote

Once I have all the details I need, I will send you a quote with a clear, transparent breakdown of costs.

If you are happy with my quote, then email me back with confirmation and I’ll hold time for you in my schedule.

Step 3: Final Script + Direction Notes.

When you’re ready, send me your final script.

Tell me how you want me to read your script:

• TONE: For example, do you want me to sound formal and business-like / friendly and casual / authoritative or reassuring / calming or exciting? Are you looking for a ‘voice of authority’ or a more conversational, ‘voice of the people’?

• AUDIENCE: Who is your voiceover talking to? What’s their demographic? How do you want them to feel when they hear it? Do you want to inspire them / comfort them / teach them?

• LOCATION: Where will this be heard/viewed? It’s good to know as this might shift the tone.

Language is really subjective, so it helps if you can send me weblinks to examples of the kind of thing you are looking for.

And, let me know any requests you may have for alternative takes.

Make sure the script is 100% correct, and fully signed-off, at this stage.
(Any future scripts changes, after this point, are likely to incur an additional fee.)

Step 4: Recording + Edit

I will record the full script and send you a draft audio file of the recording (mp3) via We Transfer (or alternative platform, as preferred).

If you have requested music or SFX to be added, I will include these in the edit, so that you can check they fit.

I might also send you alternative takes of certain words/phrases, to eliminate the need for re-records later, and save you time.

If you feel that I have made any errors, or something doesn’t quite sound right to you, email back with specific re-recording instructions. 

I will re-record, as per your instructions, and send you your revised files.

Step 5: Delivery + Payment

When you are completely satisfied with the recording, my work is done. I will send you your final audio file/s and my invoice. My payment terms are 30 days.
